Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Cork)

• Carry out inspections, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a range of heavy vehicles in line with safety and technical standards.
• Undertake complex fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems and deliver effective solutions.
• Work efficiently to reduce vehicle off-road time, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, reporting recurring faults and potential issues.
• Collaborate with Garage Supervisors, Engineers, and external suppliers to resolve technical challenges.
• Provide guidance and support to apprentices, fostering knowledge transfer and professional growth.
• Uphold strict health and safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Take ownership of tasks, using available resources effectively to achieve high-quality outcomes.

• QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (or equivalent qualification).
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
• Strong technical expertise with proven diagnostic and mechanical ability.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines within a busy, shift-based environment.
• Desirable: Full Category D (Bus) Licence.
• Desirable: Experience mentoring apprentices or junior colleagues.
