My client, an Irish-owned, design-led business in the athleisure and lifestyle fashion sector, is seeking a commercially driven and creatively minded Head of Fashion Design to lead its product function across all categories. The brand is experiencing rapid growth both domestically and internationally, and this pivotal role will be central to shaping its product direction, driving innovation, and delivering sustainable commercial success.The successful candidate will bring vision, structure, and leadership to the product team, delivering innovative, on-brand ranges that resonate with its growing community while meeting key commercial targets. Responsibilities of this Head of Fashion Design job include:
  • Drive the brand’s product vision and roadmap, ensuring it supports ambitious growth targets and strengthens market leadership
  • Set clear product value propositions and pricing strategies that resonate with the target customer and drive commercial success
  • Lead the creation of seasonal product lines across all key categories, ensuring they are distinctive, relevant and on-brand
  • Oversee the complete product lifecycle – from initial concept and design, through development, testing, and production, to launch – delivering on quality, fit, sustainability, and timelines
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with global sourcing partners, meeting margin, quality, and sustainability objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with eCommerce, marketing, wholesale, and retail teams to align product strategies with campaigns, launches, and customer insights
  • Use data, market intelligence, and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities and inspire product innovation
  • Champion sustainability initiatives and material innovation throughout the product development process
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing product team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability and results
Requirements of this Head of Fashion Design job include:
  • 5 or more years’ experience developing and scaling product lines in the fashion, athleisure, or lifestyle sectors
  • Proven track record of delivering commercially successful product strategies in a high-growth environment
  • Strong commercial acumen with deep knowledge of fit, function, technical fabrics, product sustainability, pricing, and category planning
  • Hands-on experience managing the entire product lifecycle from concept through to delivery
  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset
  • Passion for product innovation, customer connection, and using insights to drive decisions
