That's why we're fully committed to inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, identity, and experience to drive us forward every day.About the Role:The Senior GL Accountant is responsible for initial preparation of general accounting and financial reporting activities for assigned entities, including journal entries/reconciliations, statutory reporting/compliance, corporate tax provisions, variance analyses, and other ad-hoc activities. This role aligns to the new organization structure within the RTR team to enable simplified and streamlined operations of the global business service center located in Ireland.ResponsibilitiesRole Overview:
  • Execute entity accounting activities such as, but not limited to, conducting general ledger closing activities (i.e. journal entries and account reconciliations), intercompany recharge activity, lease activity and performing ad hoc support activities in a timely manner
  • Complete adjustments, accruals and other types of journal entries in accordance with the financial standards and controls framework
  • Support the statutory reporting preparation, compliance activities and governance processes for specific entities and support any associated audits
  • Prepare quarterly bridge between US GAAP and local GAAP, corporate tax provisions to be reviewed by Tax team, and variance analyses
  • Help maintain ledgers within SAP to ensure accurate and consistent records, and improve relevant processes across the team
  • Promptly respond to information requests from stakeholders
  • Ensure that financial information complies with professional and regulatory standards
  • Support annual US GAAP audit process and periodic indirect tax return review, as needed
  • Compliance with internal controls (SOX)
  • Achieve deadlines set by leadership and the business, and proactively monitor and raise instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashion
  • Actively manage workload and escalate inefficiencies and concerns to the Team Lead
  • Function as a member of a team, demonstrating effective teamwork and relationship building
QualificationsMinimum Education Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting (or local equivalent)
  • Professional accountancy Qualification such as, CPA, CFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a relevant finance and/or accounting role, preferably in a GBS environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • SAP Experience w/S4 and/or ECC a plus
  • Strong enterprise business acumen, knowledge and understanding of work processes performed by Finance
  • Experience in top-tier accounting firm is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees, supervisors and customers
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Read, write and speak English. Additional language skills a plus
