My client, a not-for-profit organisation is currently seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join their operations based in North County Dublin. This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position.As the Housing Officer, you will be responsible for providing a professional service in tenant engagement, estate management and arrears management with a focus on high-quality customer service.Tasks & Duties
  • Manage designated schemes/units per Association policies using Housing Management System, acting as primary resident contact.
  • Conduct annual home visits to maintain tenant engagement and property condition, while working with residents to enhance involvement.
  • Assist residents in establishing structures like resident associations and utilize social media platforms.
  • Facilitate connections with neighboring groups for community assimilation and provide information on beneficial external agencies.
  • Attend meetings, address complaints, enforce tenancy conditions, produce reports, support community activities, and proactively manage anti-social behavior and tenant disputes.
  • Monitor and manage rent arrears, service charges, and sundry debt to prevent escalation and achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Offer advice and support to residents in need to sustain their tenancies, including preparing and representing the Association in legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Cultivate strong ties with local authority housing teams, collaborating on vacancy notifications and allocation coordination.
  • Assess prospective tenants, conduct pre-tenancy training, manage new tenant move-ins, property letting, and void times adhering to Association policies, while maintaining up-to-date housing management files via computer systems.
  • Evaluate maintenance contractor performance via tenant satisfaction reports and inspections, coordinating repairs and works orders with Property Services and Tenant Support Desk.
  • Fulfill ad hoc duties related to training, business development, health & safety, administrative & financial procedures, as well as regulatory compliance, while undertaking tasks directed by the line manager.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in housing sector.
  • Previous experience as a Housing Officer, Housing Administrator, Property Officer or Social Housing Administrator is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Reporting & analysing skills.
  • Full clean driver’s license with access to own vehicle is essential.
  • Property or Professional Housing Management Qualification is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in driving digital projects and social media usage to drive business is desirable.
