DescriptionSt. Michael's House is a community-based organisation committed to providing a quality person centred service and high standard of living to people with an intellectual disability in the greater Dublin area. St. Michael’s House is committed to providing individualised supports to people so that they can enjoy experiences, opportunities, and lifestyles like their peers.A vacancy now exists for a Social Care Leader- Person in Charge - Full Time permanent contract (37-hour week).Abhainn Linne is a day services providing supports and activities to adult’s complex needs arising from a combination of intellectual, autism, physical and/or sensory disabilities.Abhainn Linne supports 7 Service Users; some are supported in a 2:1 ratio whereas other individuals have individualised staffing.Abhainn Linne is a person-centred service guided and supported by the standards of New Directions and through individual Cosan programmes and QQI courses. The service aims to meet the needs of each individual service user promoting independence and quality of life.The day service team are comprised of different skill mix reflecting the needs of the persons using the service. The team includes social care workers and Direct Support workers and is supported by an MDT and SMH operational management.Essential Criteria for Applicants· Have at least 5 years’ experience working in the area of intellectual disability within a community setting· Have experience and understanding of New Directions.· Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management role in the area of health or social care.· Experience of managing a staff team and developing the team to ensure that they have the necessary skills and motivation to deliver to the highest of standards.· Have a strong commitment to the empowerment of the service users and their families· Excellent facilitation, leadership, and communication skills· Excellent report writing· Highly organised, motivated, flexible and ability to problem solve· Must have skills in roster management· Must be able to manage budgetsDesirable Criteria for Applicants· Must have a full, clean driver license and willing to drive as part of duties.· Experience in the management and delivery of high-quality Autism specific services.· Must have experience in the management and delivery of vocational, recreational and educational interventions for people that they have provided services for.Applicants must have one of the following qualifications:· QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College· Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of IrelandAnd A relevant health or social care management qualificationSalary Scale:Successful candidate will be paid in line with August 2025 HSE revised consolidated Social Care Leader pay scales (point 1: €53,461 - point 7: €62,432 per annum- which is based on working a 37-hour week) Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.Informal enquires to: OR 087 1612755Closing date: 12/09/25Interviews to take place the week the 22nd of September 2025Only candidates shortlisted for interview will be contacted.To apply: Please upload a copy of your C.V and cover letter via RezoomoPlease outline in your cover letter your suitability for the role taken in to account the criteria in the above advert.
