The participant with guidance will assist our team in providing a range of quality organic produce to customers. We pack boxes for home delivery, for a market stall and for wholesale orders. Over the 6 month placement you will learn and assist with the following: Stock control and food hygiene in a busy packing area. Assist with taking in orders via email, website or telephone. Will be shown how we bunch, bag, label and or weigh our own produce in preparation for sale. Will be shown how we handle stock control to have consistent supplies but also minimal wastage of bought in products. The participant will also be shown the online system and shown how to put together and process orders. The participant will learn about safe food temperatures and chilling protocols.Role Description This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. Formal Training: They will be offered the following online courses: HACCP 1, 2 and 3, Health and Safety Manual Handling Informal Training: The participant will be given in-house training on our systems and food hygiene and food safety policies Communication skills Customer Service Teamwork If there is interest in further courses they will be offered.
