- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure all products meet safety, legal, and specification requirements
- Ensure full compliance with Irish, UK, and international food safety regulations (e.g. BRCGS, HACCP, FSA, GLOBALG.A.P.)
- Develop, implement, and manage food safety management systems
- Monitor legislative updates and industry standards, ensuring the business remains compliant and proactive
- Drive continuous improvement in product quality, consistency, and food safety standards
- Manage and enforce all food safety procedures, standards, and SOPs on-site
- Deliver training and coaching across departments to ensure food safety and quality responsibilities are met
- Lead investigations into quality incidents, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
- Track, analyse, and report on KPIs, implementing improvement initiatives where required
- Take ownership of QMS enhancements and system optimisation
- Oversee calibration, validation, and maintenance of quality control and process equipment
- Manage third-party certifications and lead all external and internal audits
- Lead internal audit programmes, traceability exercises, and HACCP teams
- Collaborate with NPD and Quality teams to ensure controlled and compliant product development processes
- Maintain and update product specifications and documentation for new and existing products
- Plan and conduct supplier and customer audits
- Third-level qualification in Food Science, Commercial Horticulture, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in food safety, quality, or microbiology within an FMCG environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Solid understanding of food production processes and relevant legislation
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Proven experience with Quality Management Systems and BRCGS audits
- Internal Auditor certification is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently under pressure
- Flexible and adaptable to meet business needs
