Matrix Recruitment is recruiting for a Financial Controller to work with our client, based in South Wicklow (commutable from areas of Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow).In this position, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, supporting operational decisions, and acting as the primary finance link to the larger group, with regular exposure to international reporting and stakeholders.Your New Job:
You will work closely with the Managing Director onsite, supported by a team. This is a hands-on role covering the full scope across finance, combining reporting, controls, and commercial input into the business.
The business operates modern systems and a primarily onsite model, with some flexibility once established as well as some flexibility around working hours.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Full ownership of the finance function and day-to-day operations
- Lead and develop a lean finance team
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and the group HQ finance team
- Work with production and supply chain teams to ensure collaboration across functions
- Partner with operational teams to support business performance and decision-making
- Prepare management accounts and monthly reporting packs
- Lead budgeting and forecasting, providing insight to the corporate leadership team
- Oversee inventory management, costing, and stock control processes
- Manage AP/AR, payroll (monthly), cashflow, and reconciliations
- Drive process improvements across ERP and reporting
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Experience managing a finance function within a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Experience in inventory oversight
- Confident working with ERP systems
- Strong communicator with the ability to engage across all levels of the business and manage stakeholder expectations
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement
