Principle Mechanical EngineerAre you a senior Mechanical Engineer, ready to provide expert technical consultation to engineers and project managers regarding design specifications, progress, risk management, and project execution.Our client, a leading Limerick-based automation solutions provider and part of a global engineering group, is seeking a Principle Mechanical Engineer to join an expanding team.Key Areas you will work in :
  • Lead the development of project concepts and support formal quotations and cost estimates during the bidding process.
  • Contribute to vendor selection processes during project development and ensure that appropriate resources are identified and aligned with project requirements.
  • Lead the design, analysis, and development of complex mechanical systems and components, offering expert guidance on best practices, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee the creation of detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation, ensuring that all designs meet industry standards and company quality objectives.
  • Business Support & Development
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance during ongoing sales activities, contributing to customer interactions from both a technical and business development standpoint.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, identifying opportunities to implement new engineering methods and standards that align with business goals.
  • Employee Development & Leadership
  • Participate in the development of employees, fostering an environment that promotes personal and professional growth.
  • Mentor and guide employees to ensure their technical skills evolve in line with business requirements.
Ideally you will have :
  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 8 years experience.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 procedures and policies.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in an engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency in producing engineering documentation, including multi-level bills of materials.
  • Expertise in machining and manufacturing processes, materials, and treatments (plating, painting, heat treatments).
