Job Title IT Systems AnalystReport to MIS ManagerPurpose of RoleTalbot Group is seeking a proactive, hands-on IT Systems Analyst to join a small but dynamic IT team, working with both internal teams and external application vendors to ensure smooth operations across our IT systems.To serve as a pivotal link between business stakeholders and technology solutions, ensuring the Talbot Group's IT systems are optimised, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. The role is responsible for the analysis, support, and continuous improvement of core business applications, managing the vendor landscape, and delivering technical projects that enhance operational efficiency.This is a role for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to solve problems, and enjoys taking ownership of tasks from start to finish.Essential Qualifications
  • A third-level qualification in IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
Professional Knowledge & Experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a Systems Analyst, or similar technical role.
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting the implementation, upgrade, and maintenance of enterprise applications.
  • A proven background of working in a cross-functional, multi-site environment.
  • Practical experience with incident, change, and problem management processes (ITIL).
  • Experience in creating and maintaining comprehensive technical and process documentation.
Special Skills and Competencies
  • Technical Analysis: Expertise in eliciting, analysing, and documenting business and system requirements (e.g User Requirements Specifications).
  • Vendor Management: Proven skill in managing third-party vendors, monitoring SLAs, and facilitating issue escalation and resolution.
  • Project Delivery: Proficiency in supporting projects through the entire lifecycle using Agile/Scrum methodologies. Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma is a bonus.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and root-cause analysis abilities to troubleshoot defects and implement effective solutions.
  • Security and Compliance: Knowledge of Information Security principles and experience supporting compliance and audit activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Requirements & Solution Delivery: Elicit and analyse business needs to define requirements and support the successful rollout of IT projects, system upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for new systems to automate and improve processes and Explore opportunities also for appropriate us of AI.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison for software vendors. Maintain oversight of all issues, service performance, and product enhancement requests, ensuring value for money and quality of service.
  • Application Support & Administration: Provide advanced support for core business systems, including problem investigation, resolution, user access management, data uploads, and environment restores.
  • Testing & Deployment: Plan, coordinate, and execute unit and user acceptance testing (UAT). Support the deployment of new systems and updates into the production environment.
  • Change Management: Manage the end-to-end change process for applications, including communication, impact assessment, documentation, and securing business sign-off.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date system documentation, process maps, and training materials for both the IT team and end-users.
  • Training & Development: Conduct training sessions for end-users and participate in the development of departmental training initiatives to enhance system literacy and adoption.
  • Compliance & Security: Support organisational security, compliance, and audit requirements by implementing controls, providing evidence, and acting on improvement recommendations.
  • Lifecycle Management: Contribute to the management of the entire application portfolio, from implementation and upgrade planning to eventual decommissioning and data archiving strategies
