Meath Ref: S011697RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our client have a great position available for a Counter Sales Assistant in a well-known and thriving timber supplier. This role involves dealing with trades people, hardware retailers and assisting the general public with queries so as such the successful candidate will have good customer service skills and a helpful attitude with the knowledge to advise customers on suitable products.Great position working Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm, earlier finish Friday and a great salary on offer for suitable experience. Some Saturdays 8am to 12 noon may be required.Requirements:Previous experience in building trades / supplies / DIY / hardware with knowledge of products, ideally timberDeliver excellent customer service at all times, both face to face and on telephoneCan listen to requirements and advise on suitable products and work in a fast-paced environmentAble to carry out simple calculations on a calculatorA team player who works productively with wide range of people, can handle customers, sometimes difficult, with diplomacy and tact. Maintain a professional demeanourCan understand basic inventory, warehousing and stocking procedures, capable of following written instructions and documented procedures and work with accuracy and attention to detailKey Duties & Responsibilities:Service customers at the counter by taking orders and processing them accurately. Solve or find someone to quickly solve customers' problemsProvide product, pricing and availability information to customersRespond to sales inquiries either by phone or over the counter, provide advice, information, quotations and ensure the maximum level of sales and marginFollow company pricing and credit guidelinesKeep customers updated on orders and deliveriesMonitor customer orders and deliveriesIncrease sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sales items as well as new productsHandle customer complaints and returns, while showing a positive attitudeKeep merchandising and counter areas clean and attractiveGeneral store upkeep – maintain stock levels ensuring that all areas are full and merchandised correctlyParticipate in company-sponsored sales promotionsWork with other departments to resolve customer service issues in a timely mannerIf you have the relevant qualifications and experience and are interested in this position, please apply now and Ciara who is based in our Northeast office will be in contact if you are suitable.If you are living in Ireland and hold a VALID WORK PERMIT, please feel free to contact us directly.
