- Assist in recruiting, training, and managing restaurant staff, including servers, hosts, cooks, and support personnel, to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.
- Interact with guests, address inquiries or concerns, and provide excellent customer service to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Monitor food preparation and presentation to maintain quality standards and consistency in dishes served to guests.
- Assist in creating staff schedules, considering labour needs, peak hours, and employee availability.
- Manage restaurant reservations, take-out orders, and guest seating to optimize table turnover and enhance the guest experience.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and sanitation standards to maintain a safe dining environment for guests and staff.
- Assist in providing training and support to staff to enhance their skills, product knowledge, and customer service abilities.
- Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and restaurant supplies, ensuring efficient stock control and minimizing waste.
- Assist in monitoring restaurant finances, including cost control, revenue management, and expense tracking.
- Collaborate with the restaurant manager and marketing team to implement sales promotions, marketing initiatives, and loyalty programs to attract and retain customers.
- Build positive relationships with regular customers, addressing their preferences and providing personalized service.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns, addressing them promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist in conducting performance evaluations for restaurant staff, providing feedback and recognition for their performance.
- Generate reports on restaurant performance, including sales, revenue, and customer feedback, and provide insights to management.
- Previous experience in a restaurant management or assistant management role, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and address their needs.
- Understanding of food preparation, menu items, and beverage offerings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, customers, and management.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that arise in restaurant operations.
- A willingness to work collaboratively with staff and management to achieve restaurant objectives.
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as the restaurant may require.
