This role is based in Cork, acting as a key technical leader and escalation point for large-scale, mission-critical network services and regional buildouts, including hands-on engagement and travel to Saudi Arabia.The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in modern data center networking (leaf-spine fabrics, routing, segmentation, load balancing, automation) and strong operational rigor.Travel: International travel required — including Saudi Arabia (willingness and no travel restrictions required)*Please note this role will require 5 days per week onsite in our Cork office*Key ResponsibilitiesData Centre Network Architecture & Engineering
- Architect, design, and implement leaf-spine data center networks and related services to support large-scale compute, storage, and engineering environments
- Own L2/L3 network design and operation across critical protocols/technologies such as BGP, STP, QoS, MLAG/vPC/CLAG, EVPN, VXLAN.
- Drive network lifecycle management: scaling, upgrades, capacity planning, refreshes, and risk-managed change execution.
- Design and support application delivery / load balancing architectures including local and global (GSLB), with strong understanding of PKI/SSL, SSL offload, DNS impacts to application delivery.
- Contribute to network designs that enable AI/ML training and inference at scale, emphasizing high bandwidth and low latency connectivity for GPU clusters.
- Apply knowledge of AI/GPU networking concepts and technologies such as RDMA, RoCE, and high-speed Ethernet (e.g., 400G/800G roadmaps), and how network bottlenecks impact distributed training/inference performance.
- Partner with infrastructure teams to validate and improve architectures supporting multi-node GPU workloads and scalable cluster growth.
- Improve reliability and operational efficiency through automation/orchestration and network-as-code practices (e.g., pipelines, configuration standards, and repeatable deployments).
- Lead complex troubleshooting (individual, group, vendor-assisted) and deliver durable root-cause fixes, with strong TCP/IP operations expertise.
- Provide on-site support when needed for deployments, cutovers, audits, and operational readiness activities in Saudi Arabia, collaborating with regional stakeholders and global teams.
- Act as a senior escalation point across time zones; coordinate with vendors/partners as needed.
- Senior: 7+ years in large enterprise/data center networking
- Fluency in English required
- Demonstrated experience designing/implementing leaf-spine data center networks in heterogeneous environments.
- Expert knowledge of core DC networking and protocols/technologies including EVPN, VxLAN, BGP, L2/L3 operations, and large-scale troubleshooting.
- Experience with application delivery / load balancing architectures and their security/crypto implications (PKI/SSL, SSL offload, DNS).
- Willingness and no restrictions to travel internationally, including Saudi Arabia
- Fluency in Arabic
- Kubernetes and container platforms
- Linux operating systems
- Server management (physical and/or virtualized environments)
