Founded to be both humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners using imagination, technology and rigour to shape a better world.Senior Electrical Engineer (Cork Office)We currently have a requirement for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering group in our Cork office. We are a group of multi-disciplinary engineers who overcome highly complex challenges in the built environment with creativity, technical expertise, passion and a commitment to designing with a social purpose.This is a permanent role* and offers excellent prospects for career development (*We are also open to contractors). The successful candidate will assume a lead role in a diverse and challenging range of design projects across all sectors (commercial, healthcare, technology, industrial and 3rd level education). Our global and local teams continue to lead the market in terms of our focus and continued innovation around sustainability and digital buildings.You will be responsible for the design of various projects and will be expected to take them from initial brief through scheme & detail design to installation and commissioning support.Your Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management (resources and fees).
Preparation of design & contract documentation and specifications.
Designing and reviewing design work of intermediate and junior engineers.
Design of systems including but not limited to electrical distribution, small power, lighting & emergency lighting, fire detection & alarm, ICT, security and vertical transportation.
Co-ordination of work with all members of design teams (architect, engineers of all disciplines, QS, etc.).
Ensuring that all designs and documents are prepared to the highest standards.
Estimating, Procurement and Cost Control on projects.
Compiling project reports.
Conceptual design studies and reports.
Mentoring and development of intermediate and junior engineers in the group.
Liaising with the supply chain and contractors to co-ordinate the successful delivery of the MEP installations.

Your Education/Profile:

Masters or Degree in Electrical Services engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 8-years post-qualification experience, most of which will be in design gained within a consultancy environment.
Experience in design of projects across multiple sectors.
Chartered Engineer status (or close to achieving status).
Technically excellent with in-depth knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
Experience in leading design teams.
Experience in using Revit and directing engineers using Revit.
Proven team player.
Organised and adaptable, with a flexible approach to work.
Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Competent in electrical design software.
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
Highly motivated, pro-active and willing to take on new challenges.
Demonstrated experience in the design of Building Services Electrical systems
As a senior MEP grade, a core knowledge of Building Services Mechanical systems.
