The business has grown to over €3BN in annual revenue, operating 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally and employing over 17,000 people.Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for delivering impactful marketing campaigns? Applegreen is seeking a Marketing Manager for a 9-month fixed-term maternity cover to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our marketing strategy. This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with senior leadership, manage cross-functional relationships, and drive campaigns that deliver real commercial value.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Own stakeholder relationships and lead communications with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Deliver a calendar of marketing campaigns in collaboration with the Brand Manager.
  • Ensure campaign messaging is consistent, timely, and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Manage campaign budgets and ensure delivery within financial targets.
  • Lead research initiatives, including annual brand tracking and customer segmentation.
  • Support the Head of Marketing with budget oversight and team leadership.
  • Manage and mentor marketing team members, including hiring support and performance development.
  • Support with the relationship management of Applegreen’s Brand Partners.
  • Represent the marketing team in cross-functional groups (HR, Ops, Trading, Food).
  • Lead on organisation of company-wide events such as the conferences, awards nights and our Christmas Party.
The Candidate should have the following:Qualifications, experience & skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Marketing management or marketing, preferably in the retail or FMCG sector.
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy and marketing principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in marketing software and tools.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in marketing strategy and campaign management.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Budget management experience and a commercial mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Full Irish Driving Licence
