TUAM & DISTRICT MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION CLG - COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SCHEME Job Vacancy: Full Time Position Community Employment Scheme: Assistant Supervisor Managerial Role/Administrative and Support Service Activities We are seeking to recruit a CE Assistant Supervisor on a 12month rolling contract, subject to approval from the Department of Social Protection (DSP), to assist the CE Supervisors in the day-to-day management of Tuam and District Mental Health Association Community Employment Scheme. To assist in performing all the duties and responsibilities for the Sponsoring Committee as outlined by DSP with regard to Community Employment Schemes. Job Description: -To ensure the effective and efficient management and co-ordination of HR, financial, and material resources of the Community Employment Scheme. -Report to the Sponsor Group Committee on its implementation. -Co-ordinate and manage the recruitment of participants in a timely and efficient manner -A core aspect of the role is to support and coach CE participants towards gaining the skills, competencies, and qualifications in preparation for employment - Assist in supervision, planning & co-ordinating the agreed work schedules for participants in the various work locations of the scheme. - Assist the Supervisors in sourcing & providing appropriate and cost-effective training and development opportunities to meet the needs of the participants under the Individual Learner Plan (ILP) system and maintain accurate training records -Assist in preparation of financial returns, i.e. wages, materials and training grant/claims, bank reconciliations, ROS,etc, in line with accounting procedures and conventions and in accordance with DSP policies Essential Criteria: Have a reasonable knowledge and understanding of the role of the CE Assistant Supervisor in terms of the administration and day to day running of a CE scheme -3rd Level qualification/ QQI Major Award at Level 6 or higher in Business, FinancialAdministration, Training, HR, Project or Supervisory Management orrelated disciplines unless currently employed as a CE Supervisor -Minimum of three years' management/supervisory experience -Desirable but not essential, a qualification in Train the Trainer -Competent to oversee the administrative, technical, and participant development aspects of the project. -The ability to ensure the provision of an efficient financial and accounting system in line with CE corporate governance requirements, as directed by the Sponsors. · Excellent communication and inter-personal skills and competent report writing · Ability to direct, motivate, coach and mentor jobseekers. - Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team and work well under pressure by prioritising tasks - Provide effective supervisory cover in the absence of the CE Supervisors -Full drivers licence and own transport The successful candidate will commence on point 2 of the CE Assistant Supervisory wage grant funding scale, unless curr
