Together, we will build on our company’s long history and keep on leading the way to a better world.Discover your exciting roleExyte are now recruiting for an Engineer Civil/Structural for our new data center project site, which is located approx. 90 mins outside Helsinki.The primary purpose of this post is to plan, design, and oversee the construction of a wide range of infrastructure and buildings, with regards to hyperscale data center projects in Exyte.About our Data Centers (DTC) divisionExyte delivers comprehensive data center services from design to construction, ensuring efficiency and reliability. With our integrated project delivery approach, we have successfully executed numerous projects worldwide, including advanced intelligence data centers, hyperscale data centers, colocation and cloud-computing data centers using traditional construction as well as modular construction techniques.Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of mechanical systems such as HVAC, chilled water, and air handling units to ensure efficient cooling and uptime.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of mechanical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Collaborate with electrical, civil, and controls engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions for new builds and retrofits.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate mechanical equipment specifications, procurement, and installation.
  • Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for mechanical systems.
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and respond to alarms, anomalies, and performance issues in real time.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical failures or performance degradation.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor and supervise a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, fostering continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Participate in capacity planning, energy modeling, and sustainability initiatives to support long-term data centre growth.
Show your expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant degree
  • 3+ years' experience working on large scale projects
  • Experience in facades and fit-out projects
  • Previous data centre experience
