This is what you will do:As Director, IT Business Partner - Manufacturing you will serve as a strategic IT leader interfacing with the Manufacturing organization in the Rare Disease Unit (RDU). You will drive the development and execution of a forward-looking technology roadmap, championing digital transformation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Your focus will be on enabling innovation and supporting evolving business priorities with modern, compliant technology solutions that advance Manufacturing effectiveness and achieving Business outcomes & value.You will be responsible for:Act as a trusted advisor to the Manufacturing leadership, translating business strategy into actionable technology initiatives.Champion the adoption of Foundational & AI-driven solutions, modeling best practices and leading initiatives that drive measurable impact on Manufacturing effectiveness and scaling AI Solutions across RDU Global Operations.Build and maintain comprehensive business capability maps that align IT services and solutions, optimizing end-to-end processes for improved outcomes, standardization, and reuse. Collaborate with business owners to continuously update capability maps and align investments, designing services with clearly defined roles and KPIs.Initiate and lead Manufacturing IT projects and programs, data integration, and system digitization, ensuring quality, timeliness, and regulatory compliance (GxP, privacy, security), underpinned by strong Business Cases.Oversee effective change management, communications, and solution adoption across Manufacturing teams and stakeholders.Maintain collaborative & outcome orientated relationships across AstraZeneca/Alexion IT, RDU, and external partners/vendors.Manage and develop talent within Manufacturing, fostering a culture of high performance and learning.Support key enterprise activities such as annual operating planning, system strategy, and regulatory reporting as they relate to Manufacturing & Quality.Drive end to end Delivery Management covering the full project initiation and life cycle (SDLC) lead management, qualification for bid/financing, staffing, client management, delivery/execution and governance.You will need to have:Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, life sciences, data science, or related field.10+ years of technology leadership experience in pharma, biotech, or life sciences, supporting Operations IT or adjacent areas.Experience leading large, complex projects/programs and operations in a global, matrixed organization.Strong business acumen with experience implementing/optimizing enterprise technology, digital, data, or analytics platforms in a regulated setting (GxP, GMP, GDP, GDPR, etc.).Track record of building productive relationships with executive stakeholders, influencing strategy and delivery.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to present to senior leaders.Demonstrated leadership in developing teams and fostering collaboration.Strong organizational and deliver/project management skills.Preferred:Expertise in IT/Business Relationship Management, acting as a strategic partner in a complex, matrixed life sciences or healthcare organization.Experience building/scaling partnerships between Global Operations and IT, influencing strategy and enabling transformation.Deep knowledge of pharma/biotech industry, especially Global Operations business processes and technology enablement.Experience leading innovation programs, pilots, or co-creation initiatives.Experience facilitating business process redesign and value realization.Date Posted 13-Apr-2026Closing Date 26-Apr-2026Our mission is to build an inclusive and equitable environment.
