Senior HR Generalist - 12-Month Maternity Contract - Athy, Co. KildareMy client, a well-established and globally operating manufacturing organisation, is currently seeking to recruit a Senior HR Generalist to cover a 12-month maternity contract at their site in Athy, Co. Kildare. This is a key, hands-on HR role supporting site leadership and employees across the full employee lifecycle in a fast-paced, unionised manufacturing environment.This position would suit an experienced HR professional who is confident operating autonomously, providing both strategic and operational HR support.The successful Senior HR Generalist will be responsible for:
  • Providing end-to-end HR generalist support across the site
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for managers and employees on HR matters
  • Managing employee relations issues including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, absence management, and investigations
  • Supporting and advising line managers on Irish employment legislation, company policies, and best practice
  • Working closely with site leadership to support workforce planning and organisational needs
  • Supporting recruitment activities including onboarding, contracts, and inductions
  • Managing HR administration, reporting, and maintaining accurate employee records
  • Supporting payroll inputs and liaising with payroll providers as required
  • Driving engagement initiatives and supporting a positive employee culture
  • Supporting training, development, and succession planning initiatives
  • Ensuring HR policies, procedures, and compliance standards are consistently applied
  • Acting as a key HR contact in a unionised environment, supporting engagement and consultation processes
  • Supporting audits and compliance requirements as needed
The successful Senior HR Generalist will be:
  • Qualified in HR (Degree level or equivalent)
  • A senior-level HR Generalist with strong experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experienced in managing complex employee relations cases independently
  • Knowledgeable in Irish employment law and HR best practice
  • Comfortable working in a unionised environment
  • Highly organised, resilient, and confident working at pace
  • A strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on
