Hours: 39 hours per weekThe Noel Group is delighted to partner with a leading client in the catering and hospitality sector to recruit a General Assistant.This is a key role that supports both front of house and back of house operations within the Food & Beverage (F&B) team. The successful candidate will maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment while ensuring excellent service delivery. A significant part of the role includes the upkeep of coffee docks and self-service coffee machines in the office areas above the café.An interest in coffee is desirable, but not essential.The General Assistant will be responsible for supporting food service operations, ensuring hygiene standards are consistently met, and providing excellent customer service. This includes preparing service areas, maintaining stock, supporting chefs with deliveries, and ensuring a smooth and efficient service experience.Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintain a clean and safe working environment, including daily and deep cleaning duties.Replenish coffee docks neatly and on time each day, ensuring coffee machines are well maintained.Assist with service of food and/or beverages to customers to the standards set by the client.Support chefs with checking and storing food deliveries, ensuring only top-quality produce is accepted.Adhere to food hygiene regulations, especially HACCP, and ensure FIFO stock rotation is applied.Ensure accurate storage of food and equipment after service.Attend in-house training sessions and comply with all company policies and procedures.Handle chemicals safely in line with COSHH regulations and manual handling guidelines.Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, uniform, and appearance at all times.Carry out other duties as assigned by the line manager to support smooth operations.Skills & CompetenciesA keen interest in food and service.Strong customer service skills with a courteous manner.Flexibility and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Good knowledge of food hygiene, including HACCP.Basic understanding of English, both spoken and written.Self-motivated with strong timekeeping and attention to detail.Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 1 year's experience in a similar environment (catering, porterage, cleaning, or housekeeping).Customer service experience essential.Previous experience working with food hygiene standards desirable.Candidates must be living in Ireland and have the right to work in the Republic of Ireland.Visa and relocation packages are not provided.Salary & Benefits€13.50 per hour - 39 hours per week.Opportunities for career progression within the hospitality and catering sector.Access to professional development and training programs.A dynamic and supportive working environment.
