Our Client is a leading Charity operating across Ireland supporting some of the most marginalized individuals, couples, and families experiencing Homelessness. Currently Hiring an experienced Support Worker for Depaul in their Dublin Operation.Full time–Permanent Contract.
Rate of Pay €32,691-€39,900 Per annum
Working Hours: 35 hrs/weekLocation-Depaul Ireland, 18, Nicholas Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8 , D08 VCP7This position provides an excellent opportunity to support our service teams across Dublin. Reporting directly to the Local Management Team, the role involves responding promptly to service user needs and security alerts, ensuring their safety, welfare, and well-being throughout the night. It offers a rewarding chance to become part of a diverse and dedicated team of professionals.Key Responsibilities
  • To be a member of a multi-disciplined team using holistic approaches. Working within the principle of harm minimization where residents receive a high degree of care, support and dignity. Depaul has a commitment to service user participation and to empowering residents to manage their own lives.
  • Offer personal care & support in regard to hygiene issues in accordance with Depaul's career standards, to uphold the dignity and respect of the residents
  • Prompting service users to take their medication regularly.
  • Assisting high support needs residents with getting up in the morning, washing, dressing and changing of clothes, incontinence management etc. in the privacy of rooms.
  • Monitor for pressure areas occurring and know what measures to put in place to prevent them.
  • As required, adapt levels of assistance to needs of particular residents, encouraging maximum levels of independence.
  • Apply the Depaul Carer's personal standard of hygiene in assisting in the prevention of infection.
  • Operate effectively to prevent cross-infection, using recognized Infection Control measures.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for residents
  • Offer laundry support for residents – in particular those with incontinence issues.
  • Support and assist residents where possible to be active themselves in maintaining good standards of cleanliness in bedrooms.
  • Ensure the nutritional needs of residents are met. Assist with feeding of residents when required.
  • Promote and support the importance of a well-balanced diet for residents with high support care needs
  • Where appropriate ensure that food is stored hygienically and safely.
  • Offer support and intervene, as directed by the nurse, to the residents in regard to hydration and nutrition.
  • Liaise with Shift Coordinator, as often as required, and participate fully in Handovers, when in attendance
  • Report all Incidents (instructed by the Local Management), as per Depaul's Incident Management procedure.
  • Support other staff in maintaining good order and organization in the house.
Requirements
  • Have completed a Third level Qualification or QQI level 5 in social care or another suitably related area. And
  • Experience of service user activity planning desirable for this role.
  • Experience of lone working or off-site working an advantage
  • Good working knowledge of risk assessment processes and systems (i.e. S/U Risk assessment, Lone Working, Activity Risk Assessments)
