- Lead and support the production and review of design documentation, including sketches, drawings, BIM deliverables, calculations, reports, and specifications, ensuring consistent quality and clarity.

- Combine hands‑on technical contribution with the opportunity to guide and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and encouraging professional development.

- Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting effective communication and successful project delivery.

- Provide technical leadership and oversight for civil and structural rail designs across all project stages.
- Lead and support multi‑disciplinary design teams, fostering collaboration and shared ownership of outcomes.
- Ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of civil and structural designs with relevant standards and best practice.
- Contribute to project planning, risk management, and design assurance, supporting on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand project needs and deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
- Support and mentor engineers, helping to develop talent and build an inclusive, high‑performing team culture.
- Champion innovation, sustainability, and constructability in the development of rail infrastructure solutions.
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- A professional qualification (CEng/IEng) and membership of Engineers Ireland, ICE or IStructE.
- Experience of acting as a CRE or Engineering Manager for railway civil engineering works or stations projects.
- Experience working with on Rail projects.
- Good understanding of relevant design standards.
- Practical knowledge of railway civil engineering or station design.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of clients, stakeholders and colleagues across a number of engineering disciplines.
