Job Title: Management AccountantReports To: Senior Finance ManagerJob Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team.The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting stakeholders in the business with decision-making by preparing accurate and timely financial reports, analysing key data to provide insights to support decision making, and ensuring effective financial planning and control.Key Responsibilities:1. Management Accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Produce timely monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports including variance analysis
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare timely monthly reporting for individual nursing homes to Senior Management including variance analysis.
2. Financial Planning and Budgeting
  • Assist in the timely preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and accurate financial projections.
  • Support the preparation of excel and powerpoint budget submissions.
  • Monitor and analyse variances between actual and budgeted figures, providing insights and recommendations to management.
3. Cost Analysis and Control
  • Detailed analysis and reporting on cost areas, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency.
  • Use data insights to guide decisions on cost control and efficiency initiatives in both the Support Office and the Nursing Homes.
  • Involvement in monthly cost reviews with business teams in both Support Office and Nursing Homes.
4. Business Partnering and Commercial Support
  • Act as first point of contact for day-to-day finance queries and support.
  • Act as a financial advisor to non-finance department heads, providing management reports, insights and guidance.
  • Prepare timely supporting documentation and calculations for pricing applications and proposals.
5. Process Improvements· Identify areas to improve reporting and analysis processes.· Maintain the integrity of financial data.· Support continuous improvement initiatives through finance [i.e. testing systems / validating data].6. Compliance and Controls
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Work with auditors during internal and external audits, providing documentation as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications:Education· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.· Accounting qualification [ACA / ACCA / CIMA] or equivalent.Experience· 2-3 years post qualification experience [PQE].· Experience in management / financial accounting.· Experience in business partnering / financial analysis, or related roles.· Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.Technical Skills· Strong systems skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office suite.· Experience with accounting software (e.g., Netsuite/Oracle systems)· Ability to analyse trends and to understand key drivers and their historical and future impacts.· Experience with system upgrades / improvement projects.Soft Skills· Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.· Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Experience in working with non-finance colleagues.· Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.What We Offer:
