- Practice and promote Nursing home guidelines on hand washing and Infection Control to protect oneself and others
- Adherence to guidelines on Absenteeism Lateness and sickness
- Responsible for the operation of the switch board and redirect calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintaining an organized office
- Proficient use of MS office and experience using Strandum an advantage
- Completing all the paperwork involved in admitting and discharging Residents
- Imputing residents details files to ensure all are up to date
- Receiving and recording cash receipts. Issuing receipts to customers
- Coordinating incoming and out coming mail
- Refer any queries regarding bed vacancies to the relevant manager
- Filing residents details and archiving old files
- Ordering any supplies using the Company purchasing system
- Co-ordinate complaints handling and compliance with Complaints policy
- HR Support for Staff Audit Files
- Adherence to precautions identified in the infection control policy
- Application of ‘Manual Handling’ Techniques as trained
- Compliance with fire safety regulations
- Compliance with the Safety statement with emphasis on ergonomics
- Reporting any defects in equipment
- Directing any queries regarding residents welfare to the Nursing staff
- Working as part of the team
- Attending Department meetings as required
- Aware of all internal memos and directives by management
- Maintaining an open and honest relationship with all departments including the kitchen, Activities, Maintenance, finance, Human Resources
- Attending mandatory training and other training as directed
- Attending probationary meetings in the first 6 months of service with the faciliy
- Aware of all policies and any changes or amendments that are made to the policies
- Contributing to own personal development and attending training and development where needed
- QQI/FETAC qualification OR relative experience in a similar environment.
- Prior experience as a receptionist or in related field.
- Consistent, professional dress and manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Professional, caring and empathetic nature.
- Be comfortable working in a sometimes, challenging environment.
