The company a progressive made to order manufacturing business based in Galway, producing made-to-order work surfaces for domestic and export markets. As they gear up for the next phase of growth, they are looking for a strong communicator and people leader to guide one of their key value streams.
This role is about leading from the front-motivating a team of 10 production operatives in a fast-moving, high-variation manufacturing environment. It's not about mass production; it's about structure, flexibility, and a people-first mindset.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and support a production team to deliver daily targets.
- Communicate clearly through daily briefings and regular team updates.
- Coach team members to stay engaged and productive, even during changeovers or downtime.
- Monitor performance and address issues promptly and fairly.
- Work cross-functionally with planning and maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and positive team engagement.
- Lead by example-hands-on when needed, always approachable.
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or high-mix production setting.
- Strong communication skills-you're clear, calm, and confident.
- Ability to get the best out of people and handle tough conversations with fairness.
- A structured, proactive approach to scheduling, process flow, and performance management.
- Comfortable using standard PC tools (Word, Excel); mechanically minded a plus.
- Reliable, honest, and ready to grow with a company on the move.
