- Oversee the daily operation of the deli department, ensuring smooth service and consistent food quality
- Lead, train, and motivate the deli team to deliver excellent customer service and fresh food standards
- Drive deli sales, margins, and profitability while maintaining strong control of waste and shrink
- Ensure high standards of food preparation, presentation, cleanliness, and merchandising
- Maintain full compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Manage stock ordering, rotation, and availability to meet customer demand
- Plan production levels in line with store trading patterns and promotions
- Support recruitment, rostering, and ongoing staff training within the department
- Work closely with store management to support overall store performance and targets
- Previous experience as a Deli Manager or Senior Deli Supervisor within convenience or grocery retail
- Strong fresh food knowledge with hands-on experience in a high-volume deli environment
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with a hands-on, proactive management style
- Proven ability to manage KPIs, margins, and waste control
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety compliance
- Organised, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment
- Flexible to work across store trading hours, including weekends
