Are you a people person with a passion for hospitality and a talent for leading a team? We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Supervisor to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our reception area. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for supervising the reception team, delivering a warm and professional welcome and farewell to our guests, and maintaining the highest standards of front desk service throughout your shift.Front Office Operations
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of the reception desk
  • Supervising and delegating work of receptionists
  • Assisting the Front Office Manager with daily duties when requested
  • Welcoming and acknowledging all guests in the reception and lobby area in a warm and friendly manner
  • Delivering excellent customer service to all guests at all times
  • Induction and training of all new staff to agreed standards and following the training plan
  • Controlling the availability of rooms and balancing rooms types on a daily basis
  • Controlling and closing House Accounts on a daily basis
  • Delivering training and assisting in the development of the front office team
  • Communicating hotel and city services to guests
  • Balancing all financial records and reports at the end of each shift.
  • Communicating effectively with the accommodation manager and supervisors for the availability of clean inspected rooms and extra requirements for guests
  • Communicating clearly with tour guides and organising group luggage to and from bedrooms
  • Taking messages on behalf of the guests and ensuring delivery to the guests room
  • Taking messages on behalf of Managers and ensuring that messages are passed on with all the necessary details
  • Maximising room revenue at peak times by offering best rates at low times and upselling rates where possible
  • Ensuring floats are balanced at the end of all shifts
  • Completing corrections of bills when on shift
  • Ensuring all invoices are correct for posting with all relevant back up and liaising with the Accounts department on a daily basis
  • Preparing rooming lists in conjunction with reservations team
Customer Service
  • Leading by example by providing an efficient and friendly service to guests at all times
  • To follow the Mespil Hotel key standards at all times
  • To provide a warm and friendly telephone service to guests
  • Handling guest complaints in a professional manner and to a 4 star standard
  • To maintain a positive, friendly attitude with both hotel guests and your colleagues
The successful candidate will be required to have:
  • Strong reservations experience from similar style properties
  • Some experience in supervising a reservations team
  • Excellent Customer Care skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on their own initiative
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities
  • Ability to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information
