Monday to Friday, 12:00 - 19:002nd Position20:00 -23:00The purpose of this role is to provide person-centered support to enable a person with a disability to live as independently as possible. This may include personal care, domestic assistance, social , companionship, and transportation, tailored to the person’s specific needs as outlined in their individual service agreement.Key RelationshipsYou will collaborate with the person availing of our services and their family, fellow assistants (if applicable), and relevant Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) staff, including service coordinators and administrative teams.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide domestic support, such as light housework, cooking, and other household duties.Drive the member’s vehicle or accompany them as a passenger (where applicable).Full, clean driver’s license requiredParticipate in mandatory training provided by IWA, including manual handling and safeguardingAssist with personal care tasksAccompanying the member to hospital appointments.Accompany the individual to meetings, networking events, or professional settings and provide necessary assistance.Support with communication tasks, such as accessing written information and using technology or devices (assistance with academic typing, editing, research- 1st Position)Be available for occasional additional hours to cover shifts during holidays, sick leave, or unforeseen circumstancesAssistance with typing and other areas of academic support.Typing research filing and admin skillsPerson SpecificationEssential Requirements:Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality support.Fluency in English (spoken and written).Legal right to work in Ireland.Willingness to undergo Garda vetting and complete mandatory training before commencing work.Desirable Qualifications and Experience:· QQI levl 5 in Community & Health Services, Health Service Skills, or Healthcare Support (or equivalent).· Experience working with individuals with disabilities.· Basic knowledge of technology to assist with daily tasks.Behaviours and CompetenciesPerson-centered approach with a high level of empathy and discretion.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and schedules.Good organizational and time-management skills.Remuneration and BenefitsStarting rate: €15.39 - €17.12 per hour (depending on experience).Premium rates for antisocial hours, Sundays, and public holidays.Mileage reimbursement for inter-member travel.Sick pay scheme, maternity/paternity pay, and access to further education support.Additional benefits such as Bike to Work Scheme, PRSA Pension, and Employee Assistance Service..IWA is committed to continuing to be an equal Opportunities employerINDH
