- Oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring all work aligns with project plans, schedules, and specifications
- Monitor project progress, maintain accurate records in the daily site diary, and provide detailed updates to the Project Manager
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and tradespeople, ensuring efficient workflows and quality output
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure construction adheres to technical drawings, quality standards, and project specifications
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare management systems, including site inductions, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
- Set out site works using robotic total stations, GPS, and other surveying tools for accurate measurements and layouts
- Manage plant, labour, and materials, liaising with suppliers for timely orders and monitoring day-work activities
- Address technical issues on-site, interpret drawings, and communicate design changes or construction challenges to the team
- Act as the primary on-site point of contact for contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and regulatory authorities
- Report regularly to senior engineers or management on project progress, resource requirements, and any issues affecting timelines or budgets
- Collaborate with clients and consultants to resolve queries and maintain satisfaction while upholding company standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in planning and scheduling within construction, preferably on medium to large-scale projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building regulations, and Irish standards
- Excellent organisational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset to address on-site challenges promptly
- Proficiency in construction software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project)
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Team-oriented approach with the ability to build strong working relationships
- Adaptability to work in fast-paced, dynamic construction environments
