This is an exciting time to join our team and contribute to our market expansion.The Senior Traffic Management Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that there are effective traffic management arrangements in place throughout the delivery of CBCIW to ensure its impact on congestion is minimised and delivery is carried out safely.Missions/Main Duties:Your responsibilities will include:
  • Carry out a review of the traffic management plan for each Scheme to be developed by the Design and Build Contractors which will cover the requirements for each of the Design and Build Contracts in relation to traffic management during the delivery, ensuring that the plans covers coordination with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the relevant permits are in place to facilitate the Contractors Traffic Management Design once approved by the NEC4 PM;
  • Oversee all traffic management design inputs input across the project assuring that they are designed in accordance with codes of practice, relevant standards and best international practice;
  • Oversee the drafting of the interface management requirements related to Traffic Management for each of the Design and Build Contracts and to input into the procurement documents;
  • Manage complex traffic engineering/safety and traffic planning studies and develop designs to support the traffic management for CBCIW, also act as a lead traffic designer;
  • Ensure traffic management arrangements are implemented in line with the approved Traffic Management Plans;
  • Ensure coordination across Schemes in relation to traffic management arrangements, ensuring that the approaches to traffic management plans taken by each of the Design and Build Contracts are aligned to eliminate the potential for conflicts;
  • Ensure learnings in relation to traffic management is disseminated across Schemes;
Profile/Skills:To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
  • Extensive traffic management experience in live urban environments
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent)
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Professionally qualified or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Formal training / certification in Chapter 8 is desirable
  • Safe pass accreditation is desirable
  • Possess a full, clean driving license.
  • Managing major traffic schemes, including traffic signal managed schemes, from initiation to handover for implementation, and designing schemes to minimise their impact on the surrounding traffic network.
  • Highway design regulations.
  • Analysing traffic survey data.
  • Traffic Management Orders and procedures.
  • Interpreting traffic signal modelling reports and data to inform and steer project design.
  • Road safety, traffic incident management, traffic control and safety procedures.
  • ITS system and design principles, standards, guidelines, processes, operations, and policy.
  • Signal timing optimisation within traffic controllers, Adaptive Signal Control, Transit Signal Priority, and other traffic signal technology.
  • Assessing traffic simulation software, such as VISSIM reports.
  • Working knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations.
  • Driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies and standards.
  • Data collection techniques and analysis are sufficient to gather, interpret and prepare reports.
  • 3D design using AutoCAD Civils 3D.
  • Dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of processes and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting; and
  • Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.
