Mode: Based in Office – with Site Visits RequiredAbout the RoleOptimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a long-established civil engineering company delivering public realm and road corridor projects across the Leinster region. The successful candidate will support senior members of the commercial team and assist in managing costs, reporting, and subcontractor engagement. Projects are primarily within the road infrastructure and energy space, working with public authorities and county councils.This role offers excellent support, career development, and long-term opportunities to progress within the company.Salary & Benefits

- Assist in preparing cost/value reports for live projects
- Support the preparation of monthly CVRs and commercial strategies
- Engage with subcontractors regarding pricing, variations, and agreements
- Help maintain accurate cost forecasts and manage budgets
- Work with site teams to ensure cost control and progress tracking
- Liaise with local authorities and third-party stakeholders
- Monitor material costs, resource usage, and subcontractor performance
- Ensure adherence to internal commercial processes
- Collaborate with the wider commercial and operational team
- Provide support to Senior QS and Commercial Manager as required
- Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- 2–4 years’ experience in civil or infrastructure projects - ideally in Ireland/UK
- Familiar with cost reporting, subcontractor management, and variations
- Understanding of public works contracts and local authority processes
- Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Confident communicator and team player
- Ability to take initiative and work under pressure
