We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Management Team. This position is open to both part-time and full-time candidates. We are committed to delivering compassionate, person-centred care that honours the dignity of all individuals who come through our doors.Our hospital provides a wide range of neuropsychiatric services for adults with serious and enduring mental health conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, early-onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. We are proud to be the only facility in Ireland offering specialised care for individuals living with Huntington’s disease.Care at Bloomfield is delivered by a multidisciplinary team and is grounded in evidence-based, recovery-oriented principles. With over 200 dedicated professionals, we foster a friendly, inclusive, and professional working environment focused on excellence in patient care.Key Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance duties, including painting, masonry, basic carpentry, and minor repairs.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to deliver day-to-day maintenance and installations across the hospital and residential areas.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance and maintain accurate service records.
Maintain high standards of decoration and general building appearance.
Prioritise tasks from the maintenance log in consultation with departmental managers.
Carry out regular safety inspections, including checks on emergency lighting, fire alarms, and firefighting equipment.
Identify and troubleshoot maintenance issues, coordinating prompt repair to minimise service disruption.
Liaise with on-site tradespeople and external contractors as needed.
Promote and uphold a safe and well-maintained environment across all facilities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives led by the Head of Facilities Management.

Person SpecificationEssential Experience:

Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably within a healthcare or similar setting
Ability to work independently and manage varied maintenance challenges
Knowledge of health and safety standards and best practices

Desirable Skills:

Carpentry, painting, and/or decorating experience
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities

Qualifications:

Full, clean European driving licence (essential)

Ability to prioritise tasks and demonstrate initiative

Basic computer literacy
