Job DescriptionJob Title: Social Care Leader/PICContract Type: Full-time, PermanentLocation: Galway CityRole Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Care Leader to join our client's team to lead and manage a residential and short-break respite service for adults with intellectual disabilities. The successful candidate will ensure the effective operation, compliance, and quality of the designated centre in accordance with HIQA regulations and national legislation. This is a leadership role that requires strong management, budgeting, and regulatory compliance skills, as well as a commitment to providing person-centred care in a home-like environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure full compliance with HIQA regulations, the Health Act 2007, and other relevant legislation.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the designated centre, ensuring a high standard of care and support for service users.
  • Develop and implement person-centred support plans that promote independence and quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit required reports to senior management.
  • Lead, supervise, and support a multidisciplinary team, ensuring staff development and training needs are met.
  • Manage staff rosters effectively, ensuring appropriate skill mix and resource allocation.
  • Conduct performance management, appraisals, and development meetings with staff.
  • Oversee the annual budget, ensuring effective financial management and resource allocation.
  • Ensure appropriate management of service users' personal finances, maintaining transparency and compliance with regulations.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and home-like environment for service users.
  • Encourage and facilitate social inclusion and community participation.
  • Promote individual choice, independence, and dignity in all aspects of care.
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a management or supervisory role in health or social care.
  • Relevant social care or nursing qualification, minimum QQI Level 7 in social care.
  • Management qualification.
  • Proven experience managing a residential service in compliance with HIQA regulations.
  • Experience in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Strong experience in report writing, personal support plans, and roster management.
  • Full, clean driving license.
  • Excellent IT and administrative skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for residential disability services.
