Limerick. This role is vital in providing safe, supportive, and high-quality care to children and young people in line with their individual needs and care plans.You'll lead shifts, guide staff, and work closely with management and external professionals to help every young person reach their full potential.Key ResponsibilitiesLead residential care shifts and act as a role model for team membersDevelop and implement individualised care and crisis plansSupport children with education, homework, and daily routinesMaintain accurate records and complete reportsLiaise with social workers, parents, schools, and professionalsEnsure compliance with health & safety, policies, and care standardsProvide induction, guidance, and mentoring to new and relief staffSupport young people with life skills, emotional regulation, and community engagementUndertake household duties, administrative tasks, and contribute to team meetingsAct as a deputy for the Unit Manager when requiredEssential Qualifications & ExperienceTo apply, you must meet the following requirements:Education:A minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a related field eligible for CORU registration
Relevant qualifications include:
Social Care, Psychology (Level 8), Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, Counselling, Addiction Counselling, Youth and Community Work, Social Sciences, Family Support, Disability Studies, Applied Behavioural Analysis, Early Years Care (U12), BA Applied Policing, Custodial Care, Teaching, NursingExperience:At least 2 years of experience in a social care role working with children/young peopleExperience in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)Background in managing challenging behaviours and leading teamsSkills & Other Requirements:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong knowledge of effective team dynamicsUnderstanding of Irish National Standards in Children's Residential CentresFull, clean manual driving licence valid in IrelandWorking HoursShift-based work including evenings, weekends, overnights, and public holidaysReady to Make a Difference?If you are passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people and have the qualifications and experience required, we would love to hear from youNuvo Healthcare - Ethically Connecting People, Transforming Lives
