We’re looking for a Senior Design Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team of innovators at our Innovation Centre in Cork. This hybrid role requires three days onsite, offering the perfect blend of collaboration and flexibility.As a Senior Design Engineer, you’ll partner across disciplines—Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical Sciences, Marketing, and Project Management—to drive success. Under minimal supervision, you’ll have the chance to work on cutting-edge systems and play a pivotal role in designing and delivering next-generation interventional solutions that truly make a difference.Learn more about our business here:What you will do:
Technical Responsibilities:Under minimal supervision, research, design, develop, modify, and verify components/modules for medical devicesTranslate design inputs to engineering specifications and produce sub-system level designsDevelop and analyze solutions, prototyping one or more options to provide proof of conceptApply fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices and procedures for problem solvingBusiness Responsibilities:Demonstrate advanced understanding of customer needs and design inputsDemonstrate proficiency with product’s intended use and clinical proceduresLearn how the financial models are constructedMed Device Compliance:Follow fundamental industry standards, design requirements and test strategies which apply to regulatory requirementsIndependently create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History fileFollow R&D procedure like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management SystemGeneral Responsibilities:Under minimal supervision, work with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project successQuickly process and assimilate procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology requiredWork on complex problems, applying advanced experience and learningsDemonstrate ownership and prioritize work with minimal supervisionWorks as key member of the team, collaborating with others and solidifying relationshipsMinimum Qualifications (Required):Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or BioMedical & 2+ years of work experiencePreferred Qualifications (Strongly desired):
Technical Skills:Working knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering practices and design principlesTechnical ability to create engineering drawings and models, applying GD&T and CAE toolsDemonstrated ability to apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product designAbility to Communicate basic plans and technical information to team members#IJ#CAD#R&D#Mechanicaldesign#testmethodTravel Percentage: 10%
