Hobson Prior is seeking a Head of Finance & Operations to join a rapidly growing medical device company based in Galway. This role offers the opportunity to lead and shape the operational and financial backbone of the organization as it scales internationally. You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure sustainable growth, efficient processes, and a strong company culture.Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting while managing cash flow and vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to ensure compliance with tax and accounting regulations in Ireland and the US.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Build scalable finance systems and processes to support growth across regions.
  • Manage business operations, including HR, IT, facilities, and administration, ensuring they align with the company's scaling needs.
  • Partner with functional leaders to streamline operations and remove bottlenecks.
  • Support international expansion by establishing consistent systems and processes across regions.
  • Lead cross-functional projects such as implementing new systems or setting up customer support functions.
  • Foster a positive company culture, oversee onboarding, and manage performance reviews.
Key Skills and Requirements:
  • Strong experience in finance, business operations, or general management, ideally within a high-growth company.
  • Professional qualification in accounting or significant hands-on experience in finance-related roles.
  • Proven ability to build and optimize operations, finance, HR, and administrative systems.
  • High technical literacy with a track record of implementing technology-based solutions.
  • Leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and driving cultural alignment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and solving problems independently.
  • Experience in an international context (Ireland/US exposure is a plus).
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to contribute strategically at a leadership level.
