- Work with the Director of Finance on financial strategy and projections.
- Work with the Director of Finance on the financial aspects of the HSE Service Level Agreement.
- Manage the annual budget management process to include preparation meetings, processing, reviewing, implementing, reporting and quarterly monitor and implement controls to ensure over-runs do not occur.
- Work with and support management on the identification of potential funding streams or grants. Produce costings and expenditure options regarding various projects, new developments and initiatives.
- Monitoring operational and capital expenditure and assisting in ensuring proper cash flow.
- Engaging in the on-going development, management and implementation of internal controls thus ensuring the Company is in compliance of all financial statutory and regulatory requirements.
- In conjunction with the Director of Finance ensuring the company is fully tax compliant. Ensure finances are dealt with according to current legislation, policies and procedures and best practice corporate financial standards and in line with GDPR legislation.
- In conjunction with the Director of Finance and through financial team members monitor and ensure accuracy regarding the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, accounts payable and receivable and other income and expenditure transactions for the organisation including Special Schools/Subsidiaries/Home sharing/related party companies.
- Processing payments in accordance with approved banking mandates on behalf of organization and special schools.
- Maintain general ledgers and accounting records in accordance with good accounting practices. Implement and develop systems and reports which ensure the organisation and related entities schools/subsidiaries/related parties ledgers and accounting records express accurately all income and expenditure and that all records are easily traceable.
- Prepare accounting schedules, records and reports for the external audit and HSE and Department of Education Financial Services Support Unit compliance purposes. Ensure all liabilities and accruals, debtors and prepayments, stock etc. are accurately identified and recorded in the Balance Sheet at the end of the year.
- Work with Director of Finance in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial management accounts and statistical reports for the CEO and Directors/School Boards of Management. Prepare financial reports for the Director of Finance for submission to the HSE/Department of Education as required. Present financial reports and make presentations as may be required.
- Oversee and provide support for the employees within the finance, human resources and client services directorates; e.g. fundraising function, CE Scheme, day services, group homes etc. Creating an environment which is conducive to good staff morale and team working. Fostering an environment that supports and encourages personal professional development and learning.
- Participate in external operational meetings on finance related matters e.g. HSE, Department of Education, Federation of Voluntary Bodies, Pobal, Insurance Brokers, and Banks etc.
- Monitor finance directorate employee performance. Ensuring new finance directorate employees receive an effective induction and are probated in line with procedure during the initial months of employment. Where problems arise ensure the Director of Finance is made aware in order that these are dealt with appropriately
