Are you ready to lead a dynamic team towards operational excellence?We're seeking a results-driven Production Manager based in West Cork to oversee our client's production performance, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and team management.Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you'll act as the General Manager - Operations during off-hours, taking full responsibility for site operations on evenings, nights, and weekends.Shift Pattern: 7 to 7 – 4 days on 4 days off (2 days & 2 nights)Full time, permanent position.Salary is negotiable depending on experience.Annual leave – 14 shifts per annum (12 hour shift) – increasing after 5 years service.Company pension 5% contribution after 6 months service.Sick pay scheme.Quarterly bonus based on KPI performance.Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support a team of supervisors and production operators to execute the production plan efficiently.
  • Lead and develop supervisors through coaching, performance reviews, and one-on-one meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with daily 6S, Health & Safety, Quality, and Food Safety standards.
  • Manage staffing rota and daily labour assignments to optimise factory efficiency.
  • Monitor and control production costs through agreed-upon KPIs.
  • Facilitate effective shift start-ups, handovers, and pulse meetings.
  • Utilise IT systems for communication and production monitoring.
  • Enhance operator skill levels through training and development initiatives.
  • Manage production attendance, conduct return-to-work meetings, and oversee absence and pay reviews.
  • Implement Employee Handbook and uphold Company Values.
  • Address employee concerns while maintaining a culture of respect and dignity.
  • Assist HR in disciplinary and grievance processes as needed.
  • Ensure implementation of procedures and management routines.
  • Take responsibility for assigned production lines.
  • Resolve operational issues systematically.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives and lead teams in CI projects.
Requirements:
  • Experience in FMCG industry, preferably in commercial branded products or manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
  • Proficient in people management and supervision.
  • Knowledge of HACCP/BRC standards.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting targets and deadlines.
  • Decisive with sound judgment and innovative thinking.
  • Agile learner with a focus on continuous improvement.
