Salary: €32,000 per annumAbout the Role
We at Gempool are looking for a skilled Data Centre Technician to join our client's team around Dublin on a 3-6 month contract. This role involves supporting mission-critical infrastructure, maintaining hardware, and ensuring smooth data centre operations in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, network devices, and storage solutions.
- Diagnose and repair hardware issues (servers, racks, cabling, power units).
- Perform routine system health checks and escalate issues when necessary.
- Manage infrastructure cabling, including fiber optics and copper connections.
- Maintain asset tracking and inventory records.
- Support data centre deployments and work closely with engineers and operations teams.
- Adhere to safety, security, and compliance protocols within the data centre environment.
- Hands-on experience with IT hardware (servers, storage, and networking equipment).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing hardware and connectivity issues.
- Knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power distribution and cooling systems.
- Experience with cable management (structured cabling, fiber optics, and patch panels).
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems is a plus.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting equipment, working in confined spaces).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and on-call rotations.
- CompTIA A+ or similar certification is a plus.
