- The Materials Manager will manage the supply of materials and packaging into C&D Edgeworthstown, as well as support Group Management with supplier relationships.
- As Materials Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process for site specific commodities, ensuring that the organization acquires quality goods and services at competitive prices.
- You will play a key role in developing and implementing purchasing strategies to optimise cost savings, enhance supplier relationships, and support overall business objectives.
- You will also manage, though one of your direct reports the call off all ingredients and packaging & approve all POs with supporting information.
- The Materials Manager will work closely with other site functions to ensure all ingredients /packaging are linked to BOM’s & on usage backflushed.

- Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation: Identify and assess suppliers to ensure they meet quality, pricing, and reliability standards for long-term partnerships.
- Managing Supplier Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality, timely deliveries, and mutually beneficial agreements.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends to identify potential opportunities and risks and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and order supplies to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Quality Control: Ensure that products meet company standards and specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Cost Management: Analyse and manage costs to achieve budgetary goals.
- Risk Management: Proactively assess and mitigate risks to ensure continuity of supply and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Data-Driven Procurement Analysis: Analyse procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize purchasing decisions, and forecast future needs.
- Have an updated list of all suppliers’ key contacts (including out-of-hours) and have all contracts in place & aligned with Group Procurement.
- Meet periodically with some key site suppliers – off site & ensure best in class savings are achieved & aligned with the group C&D purchasing.

- Prebiotics
- Vitamins/minerals/enhancers
- Herbs & Spices
- Pasta & Rice Carbs
- Others as they arise
- Cost Savings: Amount of money saved through effective negotiation and strategic sourcing.
- Supplier Performance: Reliability and quality of suppliers based on delivery times, product quality, and compliance with contract terms.
- Order Accuracy: Measures the percentage of orders delivered correctly, including the right products and quantities.
- Supplier Lead Time: Average time taken by suppliers to deliver goods after an order is placed.
- Emergency Purchase Rate: Tracks the frequency of unplanned or urgent purchases, indicating potential issues in procurement planning.
- Spend Under Management: Percentage of total spending that is managed through formal procurement processes.
- Bachelor's degree required: Preferred disciplines: Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Management.
- 3+ years’ job-related experience.
- Ability to operate in a matrixed environment with the ability to influence & persuade key stakeholders and to constructively deal with conflicts.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
