
Loans Officer

- Act as a point of contact for all loan-related queries across in-branch, phone, email, online, and social media channels.
- Evaluate personal loan applications (e.g. car loans, home improvement, education) based on member documentation, affordability, and credit history.
- Conduct credit checks and financial analysis to assess risk and recommend loan approval or decline.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal and regulatory standards.
- Ensure accurate daily collection, completion, scanning, and filing of all loan documentation.
- Assist in converting initial member loan queries into full, accurate loan applications ready for assessment.
- Maintain efficient processing times while upholding regulatory compliance and internal lending policies (including AML).
- Support the development of a member-focused lending service by contributing to team discussions and initiatives.
- Build good relationships and strong rapport with members.
- A member/people first attitude, with a track record of creating an exceptional member experience.
- Great attention to detail and highly organised.
- Ability to work as part of a team with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- An attitude and desire to learn.
- Hold a minimum APA (Accredited Product Advisor), QFA is advantageous.
- At least 2 - 3 years working in a financial institution/financial services industry, with lending experience.
- Third level qualifications is a bonus.
