Bridge Design Engineer

• Contribute specialist expertise to bridge and multidisciplinary civil engineering projects.
• Work on a range of bridgeworks, including both new and existing structures, with focus on superstructure, substructure, and articulation.
• Participate in early project phases: scoping, interpreting surveys, and preliminary design.
• Perform detailed design tasks, including modeling, calculations, and overseeing drawing production.
• Prepare technical documentation, including AIPs, specifications, and contract documents.
• Support technical reviews, including category 3 checks, and act as a client and designer's site representative.
• Liaise with clients, including local and national authorities, consultants, and contractors.

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 3-7 years of professional experience in bridge engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (Engineers Ireland, ICE, or equivalent).
• Strong developing technical knowledge of bridge engineering software and design standards.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong work ethic.
• Fluent in spoken and written English, with excellent communication skills.

• Knowledge of DMRB and Eurocodes for bridge and structural design.
• Experience in multidisciplinary projects, such as highways, geotechnics, or rail.
• Interest in contributing to business development, including bids and tenders.
