Responsibilities:
- Oversee all Environmental Laboratory activities to ensure compliance with ISO17025
- Coordinate daily laboratory activities and prioritise tasks to optimise workflow and efficiency.
- Support Environment Laboratory with testing of samples, recording, and reporting of results, in an efficient manner according to existing procedures and ISO standards.
- Develop and implement laboratory protocols for wastewater and domestic water testing to maximise efficiencies, in line with Industry standards.
- Drive improvements in lab processes and workflows through innovative solutions.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and paperwork in accordance with documented procedures.
- Ensure daily checks and calibrations of laboratory equipment are performed and recorded
- Develop and update in-house laboratory procedures as appropriate.
- Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal functioning and availability.
- Manage, mentor, and supervise environmental lab team.
- Actively participate in internal audits and safety lab walkthrough.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide expert insights and support., Identifying and making recommendations for improvements as part of the team within or outside the department to ensure continuous improvement.
- Maintain high standard of housekeeping and hygiene within the laboratory.
- Support all other on-going laboratory functions and requirements.
- Support and comply with safety and compliance initiatives on site.
- Proactive approach to assisting in the development of the laboratory and SOPs in preparation for external third party and / or customer audits and play an active role in such audits.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
- 3 rd level qualification in a Science discipline - Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental laboratory settings, with a focus on wastewater and domestic water analysis.
- Proficient in inorganic chemistry principles and methodologies.
- Proven experience in managing and developing a team.
- Fluent English speaker
- Valid working permit - essential
- Good IT Skills, with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, One Drive.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 essential
- Good analytical skills with an acute attention to detail.
- Capable of planning, executing, and delivering on procedures within specified timeframes
- Strong people management skills with the ability to mentor and coach team members.
- Proven experience driving change.
