If you have a passion for food and beverage, we have the perfect opportunity for you.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:· Train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline team members to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.· Become proficient with all Trigon Hotel Group Standards, policies and departmental procedures.· Assume responsibility for the restaurant, bar and lounge, banqueting rooms and room service as required: including the service of food and drink; ensuring that all liquor and food is served to customers in accordance with hotel standards.· Conduct briefing at beginning of each shift with team.· To be visible in the operation, recognize, nurture and maintain relationships with regular guests as well as cultivate relationships with new guests to ultimately increase loyalty· Superior knowledge of all products & services available to our in-house guests and external customers· Communicate with team members and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend operational meetings as required to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments· Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed· Create and nurture a 'Great Place to Work' for all.· Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors· Ensure all cash/credit payments are correctly checked before acceptance, and that tight control and security of payments is kept.· Control labour expenses through effective scheduling and inventory control while focusing on creative revenue generation solutions to maximize profit· In the absence of the Restaurant or Bar Manager to attend daily operations meeting, and monthly food & beverage meeting; and to ensure that all staff are briefed on these. Furthermore, to ensure that all communication requirements in line with Trigon Hotel Group procedures are being carried out (e.g. departmental meetings, notice boards etc.).· Actively participate and contribute in Marketing and Promotional activitiesTo ensure sufficient stock of cutlery, crockery etc. for efficient service of drink and food.· Ensure a good working relationship with suppliers and colleagues in other departments.· Assist with the preparation or changing of weekly rosters if required in line with business requirements.· Ensure all staff are smartly dressed (Grooming standards) and correctly attired in accordance with company standards before commencing duty.· Ensure that all elements of guest awareness and care, and practices of personalizing service, are carried out at all times (including full compliance with Trigon Hotel Group standards).· React to complaints effectively and positively whilst ensuring necessary action is taken to prevent reoccurrence. All complaints, comments and compliments to be reported to the Restaurant or Bar Manager.· To develop and maintain departmental standards, with special regards to the Trigon Hotel Group standards.· Report any defects, damage, theft, breakages or hazards, so ensuring equipment is functioning and well maintained.· Ensure proper stock rotation and par stocks are kept to an adequate level in order to meet business requirements. All stocks to be signed for and secured upon delivery.· Ensure department is working to hotel budgets with regards to staffing, liquor, food, crockery, stationary and other costs. Actively seek to increase department’s sales by use of promotions etc.· Adhere to all regulations in respect of health and safety, hygiene, guest safety, fire regulations, emergency procedures, licensing laws, weights and measures, by laws etc.· Ensure departmental files are maintained, ensuring all documentation is up to date, especially health and safety, and training files.· To comply with any reasonable request by Management· All team members of the company are required to make themselves available for training and communication meetings for which advance notice will normally be given.Benefits
