Senior HV Electrical Engineer - Substations - Dublin, Cork, Galway, DundalkOffice Location: Dublin, Cork, Galway, DundalkEmployment Type: PermanentWork Location: Office based/HybridPay: €75,000 - €85,000Experience: 10+ yearsVisa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa requiredOur Client is a multinational multidiscipline Engineering consultancy working on various infrastructure projects across Ireland.They are seeking a Senior HV Electrical Engineer to join their Energy and power Grid division who can be based in Dublin, Cork, Galway or Dundalk office.The successful candidate will be motivated to work on a range of diverse industry leading projects developing innovative solutions for power transmission grid systems and for client transmission and distribution installations ensuring security of electricity supply, developing the integration of renewable energy sources and bringing large power infrastructural plans from concept to delivery stage.Review and assessment of detailed design for compliance with outline design and functional specification, including assessment of proposed amendments/variations.Review and assessment of High Voltage equipment procurement specifications and technical schedules.Development of commissioning and energisation instructions and review of as built documentation.Completion of design review and construction monitoring checklists and input into stage gate review process to provide assessment of compliance of design and construction to relevant.Provide responses to technical design authority on complex client engineer queries standards.Provide input into or produce aspects of contestable specification packs (schematics, interlocking etc.), review of Plant layout, SLDs, substation layout drawings and provide expertise on HV cables, stations and OHL for Customer projects.Providing engineering design input to major electrical power infrastructural development projects through various lifecycle stages from feasibility/front end engineering stages to detailed design/site construction monitoring and commissioning.Coordination with client project teams and internal team disciplines within the company.Delivering projects in new technologies e.g. energy storage, HVDC systems, smart grid solutions, waste to energy etc.Provide professional services to clients in the UK and overseas.RequirementsPossess a degree in Electrical Engineering and will ideally be or working towards Chartered Engineer status.Experience working in the power transmission and distribution industry specifically with Irish major transmission and distribution TSO/DNO Eirgrid and ESB respectively.Experience relating to design, delivery and supervision of HV substation solutions (33, 110 to 400kV).Experience of all stages of project lifecycles- from development of specifications to handover.Experience in applying regulatory and client specific health and safety requirements to HV plant system designs.Experience with substation automation, protection and control in on- and offshore applications.Extensive experience in design and owners engineering of high-voltage substations and grid development projects.Exceptional coordination abilities with multidisciplinary teams.Familiarity with emerging technologies in the power and renewable energy sector.Capability to mentor and support junior engineers.Excellent communication skills and proficiency in delivering professional services to clients both within the UK and internationally.Experience in site construction and/or testing/commissioning for HV plant systems is a preferencePackage€75,000 - €85,000HybridFlexible hoursPensionPotential for 1 month international remote working per yearContactAndrew Taylor is the consultant managing this position.If you are a Senior Electrical Engineer and interested roles based in Ireland.
