
Associate/ Sr Associate, External Partnering (Clinical/Nonclinical), ExploR&D External Innovation

- Support ExploR&D External Partnering through planning, execution and oversight including identification and removal of internal barriers for external partnering, deal teams and external partners.
- Manage and deliver on multiple projects of varying complexity to maintain the flow of external innovation opportunities – manage and track on data, deliverables and timelines across a variety of programs, partners and platforms.
- Lead in the review of process and systems in the tracking and advancement of ExploR&D front end opportunities.
- Identify needs for process improvement, design and implement efficient methods to improve systems management.
- Exhibit high level PPM technical skills with relevant tools and software platforms to advance process improvement and increase efficiency and success
- Liaise with Project Management Office (PMO), Resource Modeling and Forecasting (RMF) and Portfolio Operations and Business Planning (POBP) and PMSC teams to identify, share, and incorporate best practices into future processes, tools and training to support both External and Internal R&D
- Lead cross-functional workstreams to deliver on opportunity and deal commitments
- Execute with proficiency in self-management and organizational skills; able to self-manage time and workload, set personal and team priorities and adjust as needed.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills; develop effective teamwork between team members and external partners with diverse styles.

- Contribute to the development of others by being an active source of PPM coaching and feedback to coworkers in both front-end deal team as well as implementation phase project managers.
- Share learning in broadly attended forums to advance skills, process compliance and effectiveness of the ExploR&D team.
- Bachelor’s degree in scientific or health sciences discipline, PhD preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year industry-related experience, preferred: 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, drug development, or project management and/or product development
- Skilled at managing alliance/vendor relationships
- Demonstrated communication/interpersonal skills and ability to connect and influence at various levels across disciplines, both externally and internally
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ensures effective cross-functional communication with internal and external experts
- Highly desirable: Experience partnering with external collaborators in the design of partnered external innovation deals.
