These acquisitions vary in scale and complexity and require flexible, robust IT support — from enterprise platforms and networking through to the integration of central services.We are seeking a technically strong IT Business Analyst to join our Acquisitions team. This role sits at the heart of business change, partnering closely with IT, acquisition stakeholders, and third-party delivery teams to support integration, transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives.You will act as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery — analysing, simplifying, and translating business processes into clear, actionable requirements that drive successful outcomes.The IT Business Analyst is a change-maker, problem solver, a questioner, a listener, a facilitator, and the ultimate bridge between the users/stakeholders and the development team. Working closely with the Acquisition team within IT, you will be responsible for understanding and documenting the processes that underpin the relevant business and where it is going. You will analyse and simplify these processes and create requirements specifications as part of IT transformation and/or continuous improvement projects. You will assist in getting these requirements solutioned, designed, and built, and you will own the delivery of these changes through the various path to production environments**Please note that this role can be based in Cork or DublinWhat you’ll be doing
  • Supporting multiple projects within the Acquisitions portfolio, from discovery and implementation across the Acquisition’s portfolio, as well as continuous improvement workstreams.
  • Requirements gathering and modelling and data-flow diagrams
  • Business rules before and after, including impact analysis
  • Dependency mapping
  • Smooth execution of the sprints or milestones, depending on delivery methodology, and representing product owners/managers as you do so
  • Management and communication of requirements clarifications to the team and maintenance of the dependency map and the traceability matrix.
  • Prioritisation of stories, backlog, or milestone functionality and cost-benefit analysis of changes
  • Facilitate support in User Acceptance Testing and facilitate deployment of changes and projects into Production
We want you to take an active role in all the above, working closely with Musgrave Colleagues and 3rd party delivery and operations teams. We are looking for someone keen to constantly adjust and improve how our various acquisitions do things.Although this role is a Business Analyst role in the Acquisitions area, flexibility will be required in the role, and you may be required to support other IT functions in line with the needs of the business.What we’re looking for
  • IT-related degree or equivalent experience
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. Business Analysis, Agile, or Project Management)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a Business Analyst role within a complex organisation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, and validation
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and hybrid delivery teams
  • Exposure to multiple delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, DevOps, Kanban)
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, quality assurance, and information security
  • Highly organised, structured, and delivery-focused
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Comfortable working in a matrix and hybrid environment
  • Innovative mindset with a willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and strong problem-solving capability
