Silgan Dispensing (formerly known as Weener Plastics) is currently recruiting a 1st Year Apprentice Toolmaker for our company based in Dromcollogher, Co. Limerick. The Apprentice Toolmaker will be responsible for learning and assisting in the maintenance of Injection Moulds / Tools. Under the guidance of an experienced Toolmaker, the apprentice will develop skills in machining, design, and problem-solving within a manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:· Assisting in the manufacture and repair of tools, jigs, moulds, and fixtures.· Learning to operate lathes, presses, milling machines and grinders· Reading technical drawings and engineering plans.· Measuring and inspecting components to meet tight tolerances.· Cleaning parts, polishing parts and sometimes drilling and tapping parts.· Help in inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining machinery to ensure their accuracy and performance.· Complete all inspection paperwork and maintain traceability.· Participate in the machining of components according to specifications.· Spare part inventory control.· Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workshop environment.· Attending college/training provider as part of your apprenticeship.What we are looking for:· A candidate with genuine interest in engineering, toolmaking, or manufacturing.· Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.· Reliable, eager to learn, and a team player.· Willingness to work safely and follow instructions.Requirements:
