Our client, a leading supplier of luxury mini coaches in Ireland, is seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead their busy service department based in Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath.This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing workshop operations, driving service efficiency, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven people management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced automotive environment.This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.Key Responsibilities:Workshop & Team Management
  • Oversee day-to-day service operations, ensuring effective job scheduling and workflow.
  • Manage and support a team of service staff to maintain high-quality work standards.
  • Coordinate subcontractor services as needed to meet workshop demands.
  • Ensure timely preparation and delivery of vehicles to customers.
  • Maintain health and safety compliance in all workshop activities.
Operational Excellence
  • Streamline service operations to minimize vehicle downtime and maximize throughput.
  • Track job progress, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Identify and resolve any technical or delivery-related issues.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Act as the main point of contact for service customers, offering clear and timely communication.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Handle and resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional manner.
Interdepartmental Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales and Operations to support vehicle delivery timelines and client expectations.
  • Provide management with regular performance updates and service department reports.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a service management or similar role, ideally within the commercial vehicle or automotive sector.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with workshop service systems.
  • A D or D1 driving licence is desirable but not essential.
