Reduce self-pay debt for uncollected excesses and shortfalls though phone call credit control collections
Process payments though an online web portal
Report daily on expected cashflow intake
Process patient receipts and ready then for postage collection
Ensure that all patients/staff and any other individuals contacting and attending the Blackrock Clinic are dealt with in an efficient, effective and timely manner at all times.

Key Responsibilities1. Key Areas of Responsibility1.1 Close debt management of the self-pay ledger1.2 Follow up by means of regular phone calls to ensure debt is collected in a timely manner1.3 Ensure reminder letters are generated, reviewed and sent to patients with overdue accounts on a daily basis1.4 Spreadsheet of calls to be maintained for review with the Patient Accounts Manager.1.5 Aged debt analysis also to be maintained monthly to identify accounts that need to be escalated to the legal collection process1.6 Liaise with Solicitors and Debt Collection Agencies on a weekly basis in order to resolve queries and advise the appropriate action to be taken on individual accounts. In conjunction with the Patient Accounts Manager aim to reduce external debt collection costs by an agreed percentage.1.7 Assist with queries and claims for other third party insurance companies as required.1.8 Maintain finance alerts on iPM and Open Accounts to identify bad debtors who re-present for treatment. Review regularly to ensure this is kept up to date.1.9 Liaise with various departments on write off journals, ensuring approval controls are adhered to and journals are processed in a timely manner1.10 Utilisation of Excel and Word Processing skills to maintain up-to-date spreadsheets and statistics.1.11 Carry out other such duties as required by the Patient Accounts Manager.1.12 You are personally accountable for your own actions at all times.2. Communication Skills2.1 Communicate appropriately with colleagues and other members of the health care teams to ensure a quality service is provided to all while constantly striving for excellence in patient/customer care.2.2 Communicate in a manner that avoids antagonism, reduces conflict and prevents undue anxiety.2.3 Recognise limitations and seek assistance where necessary.2.4 Attend and contribute to appropriate meetings.2.5 Accept constructive advice when appropriate.2.6 Report all incidents immediately, which may adversely affect a patient, colleague or the Blackrock Clinic.3. General Expectations3.1 Minimum of 2 years experience in a high volume and faced paced environment3.2 Proven success with collections, target achievement and reducing aged debt3.3 Confidence in making calls and dealing with queries and complaints3.4 Ability to reconcile accounts and payments3.5 Support the philosophy, objectives and goals of Blackrock Clinic.3.6 Observe the appropriate lines of authority.3.7 Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patients and the activities of Blackrock Clinic.3.8 Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in all areas of the hospital/clinic as required.3.9 The Ward/Unit Manager depending on the availability of locum cover will arrange annual leave; this usually means the holiday periods i.e. Easter, summer and Christmas.3.10 Participate in developing and providing quality care within Blackrock Clinic.3.11 Assist in orientation of new personnel.3.12 Continue to develop personal knowledge and skills and seeks outside educational opportunities.3.13 Present a professional appearance and conform to the dress, hygiene and infection control policies of the Clinic.3.14 Is always punctual on duty.3.15 Flexible attitude to changing work practisesWhy work at the Blackrock Clinic?At the Blackrock Clinic, we are passionate about our people and believe in their development and growth.
